I chose WVU for multiple reasons. As I am from West Virginia, being a Mountaineer fan runs in my blood, and I grew up watching WVU football and basketball games every week with my family. Getting the opportunity to experience these things from a student perspective is incredible. Secondly, WVU has a great animal science program to prepare students for veterinary school and the amount of resources and flexibility provided to me are amazing, and will help me a lot in pursuing my future career as a veterinarian. Lastly, the ability to earn a strong education at an extremely affordable price was also a large factor, especially considering the sheer amount of research opportunities at WVU.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite Mountaineer memory is when WVU beat Pitt in overtime at home this year. The amount of noise in Milan Puskar Stadium was insane, and the energy there from the fans was like nothing else I had ever experienced. Being in the student section made it even crazier, and everyone was just so excited. That day it felt like the whole state had come together to cheer on the Mountaineers. I have sung a lot of Country Roads, but singing it after that win was probably my favorite one ever.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
I wanted to become a PSA because I thought it would be a great way to get involved with the university and meet a lot of great people. I am passionate about West Virginia and WVU, and I hope that being a PSA will give me the opportunity to instill that passion into others.
