    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose West Virginia University because the faculty and staff go above and beyond to cater to each and every student. During one of my visits to campus before choosing WVU, faculty welcomed me to their labs to view their research, to their offices to discuss opportunities, and to their classrooms to watch the learning in action on campus. They make the university feel like a family in that they support you and truly look forward to your success.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose WVU over schools such as Yale, Duke, Johns Hopkins, etc. because upon my many visitations to campus, I was met with unmatched faculty care for student success. At WVU, if any student has a specific goal, there is a team of faculty members willing to collaborate to make said goal happen as quickly and ideally as possible.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose WVU because it was the only place I found where I truly could do anything. At other schools, I would not have been able to get into a research laboratory in my freshman year, let alone first semester. I would not have been provided the opportunity to learn from 30,000 peers across the campus from so many far-reaching places. WVU was the only institution on my list where I could garner the experiences I wanted in my life.

  • Morgan Glass

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose WVU because of my love for the pride and family feel this university holds while also offering boundless opportunities and the mindset that “mountaineers go first.” I value everything WVU and its people represent: hard work and perseverance, respect and kindness, curiosity and passion.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

There are many reasons why I chose to attend West Virginia University. Most people do not realize that WVU is ranked as an R1 research institution, placing it among the top institutes in the United States. There are also so many organizations aimed at helping students to make a difference: classes like the Presidential Student Ambassadors program, organizations like the Residence Hall Association, and even our Student Government are open and accessible for students to become involved. But most importantly, one of the largest issues facing West Virginia is the “Brain Drain” – where West Virginia’s best and brightest are leaving in huge numbers. Overall, I chose West Virginia University so that I could remain here in WV and try to make an impact on West Virginia’s economy, environment, and people.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

To me, WVU felt like a place of unlimited potential. Upon learning about the numerous research projects, study abroad programs, community service opportunities, and student organizations, it became obvious that WVU emphasized learning outside of the classroom and placed a high value on curiosity. I knew that I could find my home amongst other progressive individuals.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I’m a proud native of West Virginia and with that comes a healthy respect for WVU as an institution of higher education as well as a landmark in our state. My mother and father both attended WVU in the 80’s, and the rest of my family has a long generational record of attending as well. I chose WVU because it was close enough to home while also offering an amazing education, it was an easy choice that has afforded me more opportunities than I could’ve ever imagined.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

When considering colleges, WVU was always on my list for its research opportunities, broad range of majors and career pathways, and focus on bettering West Virginia. After touring other colleges, it became clear to me that WVU has unmatched spirit, passion, pride, and potential for its students to grow. I knew that I was meant to be a Mountaineer and that WVU would be my home!
