In my college admission journey, I was determined to go out of state. I toured multiple colleges outside of West Virginia and fantasized about getting away from home. However, I knew deep down that I would pick the cheapest option- which was WVU. After being accepted into the Honors College and getting Honors housing with my best friend, I felt more excited to come here. During my NSO, I was blown away with how this campus instantly felt like home. Everyone around me shared the same excitement and fondness about this school and I instantly fell in love. During the drive home, I knew that I was always meant to be a Mountaineer.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite feeling in the world is feeling the sun on my skin. During my second semester, I remember longing for the sun to come out, as I was extremely tired of the cold. I will never forget the first warm day after the months of snow. My friends and I laid out on the green for HOURS! It was so nice to see everyone on the green enjoying the weather together.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
I wanted to become a PSA to prove that West Virginia University is a place where anyone can be a leader. Students from all backgrounds and identities belong here and contribute to the beautiful culture of Appalachia- and, together, we can continue to improve not only our campus, but our community as a whole.
