The WVU Presidential Student Ambassadors (Cohort 10) spent time today learning about the Appalachian Prison Book Project from Larry and Connie Banta. The PSAs read book requests from incarcerated readers, responded with personal notes, selected appropriate books, and prepared them for mailing. A worthwhile activity, the project's work "emanates from two interconnected premises: education is a basic human right, and engaging the community in educational justice efforts is a requisite component to building sustainable restorative justice models."
