Today’s higher education institutions across the United States face serious challenges including financial constraints, declining enrollments, technological advancements, political pressures, student health concerns, political pressures, and faculty/staff/student protests, to name a few. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has added uncertainty to an already problematic situation.
Therefore, it is more crucial than ever to foster honest open communication to begin and/or to continue discussion of such problematic issues. The WVU Presidential Student Ambassadors, a group of bright, highly motivated student leaders who were nominated by faculty and selected by a committee to participate in the PSA program, is an excellent group for such collaboration. In addition to preparing for Summit IV, they hosted discussions and presented brief summaries at the event and submitted reports on their respective topics. Summit IV Topics included: (1) Responding to Student Health and Well-Being, PSA Co-Chairs - Jayla Boyd and Brandon Frazier; (2) Reinvigorating Current and Prospective Students about Higher Education - PSA Co-Chairs - Rozaireo Jones and Sidney Reed; and (3) Redefining Higher Education with AI Impact - PSA Co-Chairs - Olivia Schmieder and Colin Street.
