    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

When I toured WVU during the spring of my senior year, I felt so welcomed by the student tour guides, Honors College ambassadors, and faculty members. I immediately felt a sense of belonging at WVU, which was unparalleled to other prestigious universities across the East Coast. Upon learning about biomedical research opportunities, student outreach efforts, and service-based student organizations, I realized that WVU could provide the resources necessary for me to channel my unfettered passions into productivity and achieve my goals.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose WVU for a multitude of reasons. One of the biggest appealing factors WVU had to offer was the robust outdoor adventure program. I am really passionate about the outdoors and spend all my free time rock climbing, whitewater rafting, or skiing. I was also drawn to the sense of community that WVU has; being here makes me feel as if I belong and I'm a part of something bigger.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

Growing up in West Virginia, I always knew I wanted to be a Mountaineer, so WVU was an obvious frontrunner in my college search. Though as I looked more seriously at other colleges and universities across the country, none of them really compared to everything WVU offered. The sense of community on campus, coupled with the vast academic and extracurricular opportunities at WVU, made it the perfect school for me.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose WVU because West Virginia has been my home my whole life. I looked at other schools across the country, but none could compare to everything WVU had to offer in my mind. I knew WVU offered me a chance to stay home, endless opportunities to succeed during my four years of college, and the opportunity to position myself for success the rest of my life.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I wanted to easily affiliate myself with other people from different backgrounds while also working my way towards obtaining a degree from a well-respected university. WVU has given me the resources to get a great start on my college career. I wanted to be in an environment where I’m surrounded by students and professors that would be willing to help me with any obstacle I face.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

A great financial offer and a phenomenal arts program set the stage for me to experiment a diverse range of music. This will set me up to thrive in my desired career as a musicologist.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

WVU was one of the only colleges I visited that emphasized my major, Industrial Engineering. Every other college seemed to have it as an afterthought on their websites and while I was touring, but WVU realized the importance of showing off their amazing program and really sold me on it. I also really love the outdoors, and WVU is close to some amazing spots to hike and backpack.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

A lot of my family members went here when they were attending college, and it was just a welcoming environment I thought I could grow in. It also helped that WVU has a very good Physics program with a lot of different types of research, as well as a STEM education program to go along with it.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

As soon as I stepped foot on campus, I knew it was the place I belonged. I loved the culture WVU had to offer because I felt it was reflective of the fundamental values this state stands for. Growing up in West Virginia, there was a sense of pride when it came to choosing WVU.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I grew up in an area of West Virginia in which 10 generations of my family have lived and farmed. I have deep West Virginia roots and I love this state. My family has been blessed to be able to send my two older brothers and I to WVU. I had visited them in Morgantown often before eventually coming out here myself and it always felt like a home away from home. I am also thrilled that I have the ability to go to Dental School at WVU and to be able to stay in West Virginia and develop my career. West Virginia needs more Dentists and I have the ability to make an impact on my state’s health. No matter where I roam, WVU will always be my home sweet home.
