When I toured WVU during the spring of my senior year, I felt so welcomed by the student tour guides, Honors College ambassadors, and faculty members. I immediately felt a sense of belonging at WVU, which was unparalleled to other prestigious universities across the East Coast. Upon learning about biomedical research opportunities, student outreach efforts, and service-based student organizations, I realized that WVU could provide the resources necessary for me to channel my unfettered passions into productivity and achieve my goals.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite memory was campaigning for the Student Government Association election with the Beyond ticket during the spring of my freshman year. Being able to connect with driven student leaders who are passionate about student advocacy and converse with my peers across campus about their concerns regarding the university was impactful. I am grateful to have gained so many special friends through this experience.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
Being a PSA presented an opportunity to exemplify Mountaineer values and cultivate a positive school culture. One component of the PSA experience that particularly piqued my interest was mentoring prospective students. Whether it be sharing the unique opportunities that I have received or promoting the student culture that sets this university apart, I hope to use my platform as a PSA to dispel misconceptions regarding WVU.
What did you learn from the PSA experience?
The
PSA experience helped advance my knowledge regarding WVU, improve my
public speaking skills, and develop a stronger appreciation for
Mountaineer values. Through speaking engagements, leadership workshops,
and virtual speeches, I was able to grow as an individual and a leader.
