I chose WVU because West Virginia has been my home my whole life. I looked at other schools across the country, but none could compare to everything WVU had to offer in my mind. I knew WVU offered me a chance to stay home, endless opportunities to succeed during my four years of college, and the opportunity to position myself for success the rest of my life.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite Mountaineer memory was attending the Mountaineers win over Virginia Tech in September of 2021. It was a special day I spent with my family, my friends who have become like family, and so many other special people in my life who share a love for WVU. At some point that day, I gained an appreciation not just for what WVU meant to me, but how it has helped me connect with so many incredible people from all walks of life. That is a testament to the culture that exists at WVU, for students, faculty, alumni, and anyone else who wants to be a part of our Mountaineer family.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
I wanted to become a PSA because of my love for our University. As a lifelong West Virginian, I have been a Mountaineer my whole life. But, I feel like I did not fully understand everything that being a Mountaineer truly meant until I became a student here at WVU. I believe that WVU represents the best of our state, and hopefully many of my classmates and friends today will be the leaders of West Virginia and the country in the future. Being able to share my personal experiences and perspective to help shine a light on the tremendous things happening at WVU would be a high honor and I hope my time as a PSA allows me the opportunity to do that.
