WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose WVU due to its land grant mission and dedication to service and bettering the state of West Virginia.

What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?

My favorite Mountaineer memory has been representing WVU at the federal and state levels through Student Government Association and organizing community events like Earth Day on the Green.

Why did you want to become a PSA?

I wanted to become a PSA to better my public speaking skills while working with other driven students to give back to WVU.

What did you learn from the PSA experience?

Beyond gaining a better understanding of speech and best practices to prepare for a speech, I learned the importance of taking time to reflect. The PSA program taking time to evaluate what leadership is and giving me the time to understand how I’ve led up to now has helped frame my understanding of leadership as a skill rather than just a concept. This has informed the way in which I hope to lead in the future and shown me how best to take a second and look back at where I’ve come from going forward.
