For me, WVU has always felt like home. It wasn't my first choice of schools, as, before I came here, I felt it couldn't give me all the opportunities I wanted from college. Once I came here, though, I discovered it gives me everything I ever wanted and even more I didn't know I needed, as well as the feeling of always being surrounded by family.
What is the BEST reason to attend WVU?
I feel WVU offers a really unique experience that cannot be found at many other universities. WVU is a large university, but we have a small school feel. There are the countless job, internship, and research opportunities that comes with a large R1 school. But, with the way the colleges are divided, you never feel as though you are just a number; you are able to create the personal relationships that you find at small schools. What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite Mountaineer memory was during my first summer working New Student Orientation when I was finishing my freshman year. On the last day of Orientation, the entire staff and all of the incoming students and families stood and sang "Country Roads" together. I still get chills thinking about it.Why did you want to become a PSA?
As I said, WVU wasn't my first choice of schools, but I've come to love it more than I ever could have thought and now truly cannot imagine myself anywhere else. I wanted to be a PSA so I could share my story with other students who also didn't list WVU as their first choice either and show them all the amazing opportunities they can find here. What did you learn from the PSA experience?
As a PSA, I have learned so much about myself and the University that I love. I now know the best way to share my story to benefit our University and incoming students and how to best help these students through my own experiences.
