WVU is where I thought I could grow while still having a piece of home with me. I grew up coming to Morgantown for football games, so coming back felt right from the moment I stepped on campus. WVU also had everything I was looking for academically. The engineering program here is excellent, and I was able to get involved in research right away.
- What is the BEST reason to attend WVU?
- What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
The most important part of choosing a college is finding out if you fit in with the culture. WVU’s culture is all about overcoming hurdles and striving for greatness. Whether you want to get involved in research, study abroad, or serve in student government, every ambitious student can find a place to fit in.
- Why did you want to become a PSA?
I love going to football and basketball games because when you’re there it’s clear that WVU is one big family. My favorite game of freshman year was the first football game. Getting to stand in the student section for the first time with my friends was so much fun. After singing country roads that day, it finally felt like WVU was my home.
- What did you learn from the PSA experience?
I wanted to become a PSA to learn how to be a better voice for WVU. I wanted to improve my public speaking skills and gain confidence in my ability to represent my school.
I learned that there is more to being an ambassador than being a good speaker. While I am happy that my public speaking skills have improved, I am most proud of the service my cohort did for the WVU community. Being a PSA pushed me to get involved, and that has made me a better member of the community and a better advocate for WVU.
