I chose WVU because I was born and raised in WV, and both of my parents as well as many relatives attended WVU. Because of them, I was interested in WVU at a young age and heard about the many great experiences and memories they made there. When I started looking at colleges, I learned for myself just how many opportunities were available for me at WVU.
- What is the BEST reason to attend WVU?
- What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
There are multiple reasons to attend WVU. The best reason for me is that the student body is so diverse that there really is something for everyone. The opportunities are unlimited so every student can find what suits their needs to excel academically and socially. Also, I have not met one teacher who isn’t accepting of all students and willing to help in whatever way they can.
- Why did you want to become a PSA?
I have made several wonderful Mountaineer memories since I’ve been here. One of the biggest ones for me is just meeting so many phenomenal, hard-working students. It feels so good to reach out and meet new people, and you never know who you’ll meet or connect with on campus. The people here (students, faculty, community) really make WVU special. Also, I will always remember attending my first basketball and football games as a student. The energy and atmosphere are amazing and something every student should experience.
- What did you learn from the PSA experience?
I wanted to become a PSA because it is a valuable opportunity to better myself and become a stronger leader and speaker. I also love this university so much and want to represent WV in any way that I can.
I learned how special the community at WVU really is. I’ve learned much more about leadership roles and what it takes to be a leader. I was able to get out of my comfort zone and share my experiences and thoughts about WVU which is so special to me. The PSA experience has taught me a variety of skills that will last me a lifetime.
