WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose West Virginia University because the faculty and staff go above and beyond to cater to each and every student. During one of my visits to campus before choosing WVU, faculty welcomed me to their labs to view their research, to their offices to discuss opportunities, and to their classrooms to watch the learning in action on campus. They make the university feel like a family in that they support you and truly look forward to your success.

  • What is the BEST reason to attend WVU?

West Virginia truly has the perfect balance to offer any student. Our university is a place rich in opportunities for research, study abroad, leadership, and volunteerism. Not only is there so much opportunity, but West Virginia University makes itself affordable for its scholars with generous scholarships and fosters a welcoming campus environment that feels like home.

  • What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?

My favorite mountaineer memory was during a WELCOME meeting, a student organization for women in business to empower, lead, and change through opportunity, mentorship, and equality. Our organization hosted a small business panel with local female business owners, and Dean Reyes came to support our organization. He is truly involved in our organization and cares about his students as he regularly attends our meetings. This demonstrates how supportive our faculty are at West Virginia University, and for that, I am very appreciative.

  • Why did you want to become a PSA?

I decided to become a Presidential Student Ambassador to spread mountaineer pride and to give back to the university for all the opportunities it has given me. Representing West Virginia University is an absolute honor, and I hope to share how wonderful West Virginia University is with the neighboring community and beyond.

  • What did you learn from the PSA experience?
The PSA experience truly allowed me to learn and grow in leadership, service, and mountaineer spirit. Most importantly, I have learned how to incorporate the values of a Mountaineer- service, curiosity, respect, accountability, and appreciation- into my life to empower, lead, and excel on campus and beyond.
