Presidential Student Ambassador, Piper Cook

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

I chose WVU over schools such as Yale, Duke, Johns Hopkins, etc. because upon my many visitations to campus, I was met with unmatched faculty care for student success. At WVU, if any student has a specific goal, there is a team of faculty members willing to collaborate to make said goal happen as quickly and ideally as possible.

  •  What is the BEST reason to attend WVU?
It would be impossible to choose one of the many amazing reason to attend WVU; however, to name a few: the sense of community/pride, the abundance of on/off campus resources, the diversity in and outside of academia, our university’s President, caring faculty, etc., etc.
  • What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
Over the semester I have made many amazing Mountaineer memories. From football games to being a guest at Blaney House, everything that I have done during my time here holds a special place in my heart. One of my favorite memories is certainly being a part of PSA. Through this class, I have made so many great friends that I know I will have for years to come.
  •  Why did you want to become a Presidential Student Ambassador?
I wanted to become a PSA because I wanted to have the opportunity to inform prospective students about the many opportunities that would be readily available to them as a member of our university. I also wanted to ensure that we did not miss out on any of our state’s amazing students, and that these students did not miss out on us.

  • What did you learn from the PSA experience?
From the PSA experience I learned about various multicultural topics, how to improve upon  my public speaking, and a variety of other valuable skills that will most definitely be beneficial throughout my college years and beyond.
