My family has deep roots in West Virginia, so, when looking for higher education, I only considered West Virginia University. Both of my parents and my sister are Alumni, so I knew that WVU would provide me with an environment where I could grow and develop as an individual, scholar, and leader. WVU has afforded me with so many opportunities I would not have received at other institutions, and, because of this, I am grateful I chose to be a Mountaineer.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite Mountaineer Memory was defeating Pitt in this year's Backyard Brawl here in Morgantown. Being in Milan Puskar Stadium and seeing the legions of WVU football fans support their team gave me great pride to be a West Virginian. Singing Country Roads with my friends after our victory is a memory that will be forever etched upon my mind. The entire state of West Virginia coming together to rekindle and old rivalry reminded me of the impact sports can have on our community, and our victory was as sweet as it gets.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
I wanted to become a Presidential Student Ambassador because I knew that it would allow me to develop my public speaking and leadership skills. This will help me be a more effective student leader here on campus. Furthermore, this program gives me a platform to share my experiences here at WVU with others, which will allow me to make a positive impact on other students and our community as a whole.
