When I attended an on-campus event the Spring before my freshman year, I was given an opportunity to meet students and faculty from my major. They gave me insight into what my undergraduate experience would be like at WVU and told me of all the opportunities that would be available to me. It was such a welcoming and personalized experience and made me realize there is a place for me here. I am glad I chose a university that provides me with an opportunity to support the state I grew up in and opportunities to elevate my educational experience.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite mountaineer memory is singing Country Roads for the rural communities in Panama while on brigade. Country Roads is a song that a lot of people can connect to, especially those from rural areas who have a strong sense of community. It was a beautiful experience to see people be moved by our song and in that moment I was never more proud to call myself a mountaineer.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
I wanted to become a PSA because I want to share my experience with prospective students who are unsure if WVU is right for them and encourage them to explore what our university has to offer. I want to help build a positive atmosphere by displaying my passion for the prosperity of West Virginia and its residents.
