It was love at first sight. The pristine nature, the architecture, the people, and the traditions are all amazing. There is always something to do in Morgantown, but it doesn't suffer from the busyness of bigger cities. You can take things at your own pace, and there is something for everyone. The academic opportunities are also vast, and WVU will help you achieve anything you set your mind to. This place just felt like home, and coming here was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite Mountaineer memory came from before I arrived on campus, when we were doing our Adventure West Virginia trip. After arduous hikes, sleeping amongst the hills, and eating together by the fire every night, we arrived at the New River for our white water rafting expedition. After being thrown about by the intense rapids, we rounded the corner and saw a magnificent sight: the New River Gorge Bridge. The beauty of this sight on the river combined with the friends I had made created an amazing memory that I still cherish.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
I have seen firsthand how a college education can change lives, and I recognize that it is the key to growing our state. I believe that this role will allow me to be an effective ambassador of education to those who need it. In the end, I hope to help students from rural areas, first generation students, and any who have high aspirations. Through this, I can help the state I love, as well as its flagship institution.
