I was born and raised in Weirton, West Virginia and have visited WVU countless times during my youth. Whether it was attending the HOBY Youth Leadership Conference on campus, coming down for various athletic events, or just visiting older friends on campus, WVU has always felt like home. Additionally, I chose West Virginia University because I knew I would be challenged academically and be given the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of extracurricular activities across campus, all while being able to represent my home state.Enter a brief description of the person. What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My love for West Virginia University extends beyond the realms of academics and extracurricular opportunities. In fact, some of my favorite Mountaineer memories have been attending athletic events. I love West Virginia and being a Mountaineer, so the many opportunities I have had over the years to show my school pride have been the highlight of my undergraduate career. There’s a great sense of pride that comes along with earning a hard-fought win and being able to sing Country Roads side by side with 30,000 of my fellow Mountaineers. |
Why did you want to become a PSA?
Being a Presidential Student Ambassador will grant me the unique privilege to speak on behalf of West Virginia University through my own academic and extracurricular endeavors as an undergraduate student. I am proud to be attending West Virginia University and I am honored to share this experience with other prospective students and their families as well as others in my state, my community, and beyond. Through this opportunity I am excited to exemplify true Mountaineer values and convey my passion for being a part of West Virginia University’s legacy. |
What did you learn from the PSA experience?
As a Presidential Student Ambassador, I have had the opportunity to positively impact the city of Morgantown and West Virginia University through leadership, service, and academic excellence. This program has allowed me to reflect on the true meaning of being a leader among my peers, especially as a college student. Above all, I have been able to make a significant contribution to acause greater than myself, allowing for the transformation of both my life and the lives of others by exemplifying the mission, vision, and values of a true Mountaineer. |
