The prestigious education, welcoming community, and beautiful campus drew me to WVU. I found interest in the club teams and organizations on campus and WVUs R1 research opportunities. WVU also provided me with a generous scholarship, and I can’t wait to begin their wonderful engineering program.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
The WV Adventure Trip was a unique experience where me and a group of strangers explored the wonders of WV together. The week was a ton of fun, and we grew from strangers to good friends. By the end of the week, our group had hiked through the wilderness together, put up tents together, and travelled all over WV. On the drive back to society, we all sang “Country Roads” as we pulled into the rec center. That moment showed me the beauty of Mountaineer community.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
PSAs are known for being driven leaders who promote the values and ideals of WVU. I want to further develop my leadership skills and improve my public speaking ability. I also wish to make a more positive impact on WVU and be more involved in my community.
What did you learn from the PSA experience?
My leadership and public speaking skills have improved through unique speech assignments and Dr. Atkins’ wonderful leadership teachings. Meaningful volunteer service and inspirational alumni lessons helped me to identify my leadership style, strengths, and weaknesses. I am so grateful for this class; thank you.
