I chose WVU because of the small, welcoming feel in a large university with so many opportunities. I feel that the university have a great sense of community and togetherness while providing its students with resources and opportunities to help them succeed on a large scale.
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite Mountaineer memory is singing Country Roads for the first time at my first football game freshman year.
Why did you want to become a PSA? I wanted to become a PSA to help others on campus feel connected with the Mountaineer spirit and find their communities on campus. What did you learn from the PSA experience? I am thrilled by the knowledge and skills that I have acquired throughout my first Presidential Student Ambassador program and the leadership and service work that I have completed. I’m excited to continue to apply everything I have learned to my work in the future. As I continue my education and when I move toward the workforce, what I have learned about leadership will shine through. Defining what I believe leadership looks like, overcoming my past weakness, and confronting difficulties head on have been qualities and skills that have shaped me into a better student, person, and leader. Leadership is a complex role to take on, but through my work this semester, I feel that I can personalize that role to myself. |
