Why did you choose WVU?

In search of the perfect school, I originally applied to many different universities. From a young age, West Virginia University has been on my radar. As soon as I stepped foot on campus, I felt something I hadn't felt on any other university's campus: I was home. The people at West Virginia University are unlike any I met on any other college campus. The people of West Virginia are welcoming, kind and helpful. No matter what you are going through, you will always have fellow Mountaineers to lean on. In addition to its outstanding community, West Virginia University provides so many opportunities for students to find where they belong. Looking back, I couldn't be happier with my decision. Enter a brief description of the person. This will be pulled into the profile index page(s). Only enter a sentence or two in this region.

What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?

It's difficult to pick a favorite Mountaineer memory because ever since I have gotten to WVU, I have made so many unforgettable memories. Going on an Adventure West Virginia trip and singing country roads after a Mountaineer win are probably at the top of my list.

Why did you want to become a PSA?

I want to become a PSA because I want to be able to grow my skills as a public speaker and overall leader. I hope to use these skills to advocate for WVU by promoting all of the wonderful opportunities that this institution has to offer. As a PSA, I hope to showcase the academic rigor that WVU provides for its students through educational opportunities such as the remarkable honors college and abundant undergraduate research opportunities that has earned WVU the title of an R-1 research institution. Furthermore, I aspire to present the limitless extracurricular activities available to WVU students. At WVU, there is truly something for everyone. Whether it is outdoor activities, intramural sports, or organizations focused on community service and advocacy, students at WVU will always be able to find a place where they belong. Finally, I hope to mentor other students who, like me, are afraid to embark on their college journeys. I aim to help these students make the transition from college to high school as easily as possible and help assure them that WVU can become their home away from home.

What did you learn from the PSA Experience?

The Presidential Student Ambassador Program has provided me with the finest resources, the most supportive friends, and exciting assignments that have all boosted my morale throughout this semester. In addition to developing my skills as both a professional and a leader, I have displayed like so many other students before me how to act and be brave, this skill pertaining to not only leadership, but other aspects of life as well. Whether it is being brave enough to lead an organization, speak in an unfamiliar environment, or get through another day, Presidential Student Ambassadors embody how even in the face of adversity, Mountaineers persevere by acting and being brave.
