WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WVU?

West Virginia University allowed me the opportunity to pursue a degree in political science while being taught by some of the most phenomenal minds in the state and to connect with other students and community members that love being a Mountaineer. WVU is home to a great number of student organizations and opportunities for involvement, but still maintains a close-knit and community-oriented culture. WVU is a place that can feel like home for anyone and everyone, and it is most definitely mine.

What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?

All of the memories I have made at WVU Athletics Events have been amazing. There is no feeling like singing ‘Country Roads’ with classmates, friends, and family members after a Mountaineer win. My favorite Mountaineer sport is baseball!

Why did you want to become a PSA?

The Presidential Student Ambassador program presents students with a unique opportunity to connect with other strong student leaders as well as administrative members to discuss how we can collectively work to reinvigorate West Virginia University. When I heard about the PSAs, the work they do, and other students’ satisfaction with the program, I knew it was something that I wanted to be involved with.

What did you learn from the PSA experience?

The PSA experience helped me to become grounded and confident as a public speaker and woman in leadership. Drafting, editing, performing, and disseminating speeches in various capacities throughout the semester has helped me to grow comfortable with the process, aiding my creativity and public speaking skills. The Presidential Student Ambassador Program has also allowed me to connect with other individuals who love West Virginia, my home state, just as much as I do, and work unfailingly to see it prosper.
