I chose WVU for many reasons. During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful campus and learn about the Army ROTC program. The beautiful campus, extensive opportunities, and team/school spirit are just some of the amazing qualities that WVU has to offer. It was the perfect place to attend college and grow as a scholar, athlete, and leader. I am happy to be home. Let’s Go, Mountaineers!
What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?
My favorite Mountaineer memory takes place at the beginning of my sophomore year during welcome week. I had the opportunity to help many residents move into Brooke Tower, as well as facilitate ROTC cookouts for incoming freshmen. This was undoubtedly my favorite experience on campus, for I got to interact with the incoming freshman and experience a week in which I did not have the opportunity to experience my freshman year.
Why did you want to become a PSA?
What did you learn from the PSA Experience?
I learned so much from the PSA experience. First off, I learned how to effectively give speeches both in person and on Voice Thread. I learned how to add closed captioning to my Voice Thread speeches. I also learned the importance of nonverbal communication, voice quality, and confidence. Additionally, I learned how to be an effective leader in all my endeavors. I learned how crucial it is for leaders to be role models and advocates for their communities. Engaging in service hours has proved to be a valuable and rewarding experience, which I will continue in the future. I am very grateful for the PSA experience and highly recommend it to all aspiring leaders and public speakers.
