Why did you choose WVU?

As a senior in high school, I visited over 14 colleges and universities to try to determine where I wanted to go to school. When I visited WVU, the atmosphere and the opportunities really blew me away. With everything I could accomplish coming to WVU, there wasn’t any other option. I am so thankful and grateful for everything that I have experienced in my short time at WVU. Trust me when I say there is no place like Morgantown where the whole town is the college. I know this was the best choice and I can’t wait to see what the future holds here!

What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?

My favorite memory at WVU is move in day as a freshman. I was so excited to move into a college five hours away from home and to meet new people! I did exactly that and met some of my best friends to this day.

Why did you want to become a PSA?

When I was applying to be a PSA, I thought I definitely was not going to get it. I am so thankful that I did because now I have the opportunity to broaden my public speaking skills as well as my leadership skills. I want to become the best version of myself and I think through this program that will happen. I know I will learn a lot of valuable lessons from being a PSA and educate others about how amazing WVU actually is.

What did you learn from the PSA experience?

It is such an incredible honor to be a Presidential Student Ambassador. I have learned so much throughout this entire experience. I have a better understanding of what it takes to be a successful leader and how to go about leading large groups of  people. The speakers who were brought in expanded my knowledge of leadership with individual experiences and lessons. An important aspect of leadership deals with the ability to communicate with the people you are leading. Through this program, I have developed my public speaking skills and can now effectively communicate with the people I am around. Overall, this was such a rewarding experience and I know I have grown both as a leader and as a person.
