Why did you choose WVU?

I chose WVU because the university could give me the guidance to learn a growing and new field, while giving me the independence to construct my education in a way tailored to my future career plans; no other program or university gave me that dual sense of security and freedom. Additionally, I felt the belonging of the Mountaineer community as early as my first visit to campus in seventh grade and knew this was a place I could call home, during and after my years as a student.

What is your favorite Mountaineer memory?

My favorite Mountaineer memory was Sunday Night Lights: our chance to rally with my freshman class, as sophomores! It was incredibly fun to fill the bleachers and the WV, and it was heartwarming to know that despite the hardships of Covid-19, our 2020 class got to bond in a really unique way.

Why did you want to become a PSA?

I wanted to become a PSA as a way to give my service to WVU, in thanks of all it is giving to me. My hope is to use my time to interact, encourage, and assure students and families across the Mountaineer family- past, current, and future- so they can get the most from their experience with WVU.

What did you learn from the PSA experience?

From this experience, I learned that there is never just one way to do things right. There is never just one way to share a message. There is never just one way to lead. Most importantly, there is never one path to success. Through the WVU Alumni speakers we met to meeting new students within my cohort, I have gained so much perspective on how to overcome challenges, build relationships, and find meaningful success in careers and life.
