On October 16, 2023 Emma Fleming (C9) and Savannah Jones (C9) spoke to four classes at Suncrest Middle School about leadership. Emma’s presentation was “Lead Better than the Movies” while Savannah’s was “The Importance of Leading by Example.” They were invited by Suncrest Teacher, Paige Muendel.

Two outstanding leaders and former members of the WVU Swim Team spoke to Cohort 10 of the West Virginia University Presidential Student Ambassadors o provide leadership guidelines. A semester favorite, Dr. John Havlik, a former US Navy SEAL, and his co-author, Bill Treasurer, distributed copies of their book, The Leadership Killer, to the PSAs.

The evening before the spring 2023 football game, Mountaineer Mascot Mary Roush, from Mason County, WV, shared her experiences for the academic year and highlighted memorable events in her 450+ appearances. She then passed the rifle to her successor, Mikel Hager who is from Boone County, WV.
