PSA and Mountaineer Mascot Mary Roush passes the rifle to Mikel Hager, Mountaineer Mascot for 2023-24

The evening before the spring 2023 football game, Mountaineer Mascot Mary Roush, from Mason County, WV, shared her experiences for the academic year and highlighted memorable events in her 450+ appearances.  She then passed the rifle to her successor, Mikel Hager who is from Boone County, WV.

Presidential Student Ambassador Summit II - March 22, 2023

The West Virginia University Presidential Student Ambassadors Summit II was held at Blaney House in March 2023.  The 40 student attendees and 15 administrators again were divided into three focus groups:  recruitment, retention, and reinvigoration.  Specifically, the objectives were to (1) To discuss present recruitment or retention or reinvigoration activities/events that should be continued at WVU, and (2) To suggest new initiatives to aid in recruitment or retention or reinvigoration of WVU students.

PSAs in Cohort 8 volunteered for the Appalachian Prison Book Project

After training, PSAs in Cohort 8 visited the Aull Center in Morgantown to serve as volunteers for the Appalachian Prison Book Project.  After reading individual requests from prisoners, they searched for appropriate books, included personal notes, and prepared the books for mailing.  The APBP serves those incarcerated in six different states.

PSA Class at Inaugural Presidential Student Ambassador Summit hosted by President Gordon Gee at Blaney House

On April 13, 2022, the Presidential Student Ambassadors convened with WVU administrators for the Inaugural Presidential Student Ambassador Summit hosted by President Gordon Gee at Blaney House. The theme was “Are You Listening?”
